Retail Edition

 

According to Intuit’s web site, there are five key features and benefits available with the Retail Edition. 

  1. -         Track daily sales results more easily – the daily sales summary form help you to track sales totals all in one place so you can get more insightful reports (this is a sales receipt customized with a new name)
  2. -         Gain greater day-to-day business insight with 10 retail-specific reports and Expert Analysis Tool (8 of the reports and the Expert Analysis are available in all Premier Editions, for the 2 specific reports, see below)
  3. -         Save time – faster and easier for retailers to set up and use.  Retail-specific Menu and Navigator, industry tips for using QuickBooks, and more
  4. -         Create and track service work orders more efficiently with the work order form ( this is a sales order that has been customized with the new name)
  5. -         Works alone or with QuickBooks Point of Sale – to save time transferring sales data

 

All the features are available in the “plain” premier version except the specific navigator, forms that have been customized for retail businesses, and the following two reports.  While some of these and other reports could be created by filtering, they would not provide the exact same look.

  1. 1.      Customer Payment by Payment Item – This report shows the payments received on invoices in a summary format.  (Note that it is not all payments received from customers, only those payments which have been received at the time the invoice was created.)

  1. 2.      Purchase Volume by Vendor – This report includes disbursements from the expense and items tabs.  The purchase reports available in other products, in contrast, only include the items.
